Ricci, Josephine, (nee Greco),104, of Cedar Grove, Formerly of Lyndhurst,died on Tuesday, May 16, 2023.  Mrs. Ricci was born in Palermo, Italy and in 1928, at the age of 10, immigrated through Ellis Island and settled in Newark.  Moving to Lyndhurst after she married Alfred Ricci in 1940, where they lived together and raised their family.  In 1987, after her husband died, she moved to Cedar Grove, living there since.  She was a seamstress working for Calvin Klein in Newark for many years.  Josephine was a vital, independent woman, who insisted on having her own apartment where she lived on her own until age 100.   She is predeceased by her beloved husband, Alfred Ricci in 1987, by her son Eligio in 1984, by her brother, Eligio, and her granddaughter, Dawn Ricci and grandson, Alfred Ricci.  Josphine is survived by her loving children, Marie Palmiero & her husband, Vincent James, and John Ricci & his wife, Victoria, by her dear grandchildren, Donna Donofrio (William), Jimmy Palmiero (Kirsten), Rebecca Ricci-Maren, Eligio Ricci (Linda), John and Renee Ricci, by her great grandchildren, Melissa Chelius (Alex), Allison Triefler (Nicholas), Mary Rose Ricci, Jimmy Palmiero, IV, Vivienne Palmiero, Antonio Maren and Isabella Maren, by her great-great grandchildren, Daniel Poole,  Allan, Dylan, Melissa, Ashley, and Elizabeth Ricci and her great-great-great grandchildren, Dawn and Mary Rose.  Josephine is also survived by her sister, Marie Schroder. 

The Funeral services are private and under the direction of Nazare Memorial Home, Inc., 403 Ridge Road, Lyndhurst, NJ 07071.  You may express condolences to Josephine's family by using our tribute wall.
