Obituary of Joseph John Wickenheisser

Joseph John Wickenheisser, 92, of North Arlington, N.J., passed away peacefully on June 12, 2023. John was born in Union City, N.J. and lived in Hackensack and then North Arlington for over 50 years. He also enjoyed many years at his country home in Damascus Township, PA. John was a 1949 graduate of Hackensack High School. He was a master wood-worker and cabinet maker by trade and had his own shop - Wedge Cabinet and Millwork, in Wood-Ridge, for over 50 years. John was a member of the North and South Jersey Woodcarvers Clubs. As well as a Hall of Fame member of the North Jersey Thunderbird Association and proud owner of his prize winning 1963 Thunderbird. John leaves behind his son Gary Wickenheisser and family; daughter Donna Riley and family; daughter JoAnn Cavalier and family; and family of deceased daughter Jennifer Grimes. Also survived by his brothers Paul, Steven, Daniel and Richard. John was predeceased by his parents, Joseph and Anna, brother Albert, sister Marion Zumbano and daughter Jennifer Grimes. Cremation was private.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a memorial visitation on Tuesday, June 27th, from 6-8 p.m. at Nazare Memorial Home, 403 RIdge Road, Lyndhurst, N.J. The family requests no flowers. Memorial contributions may be made in John’s memory to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, https://stjude.org/.  You may express condolences to his family by using our tribute wall.
