Elizabeth “Betty” Maita. Betty passed away peacefully with family at her side on June 14.  She was born in Moonachie, raised in Carlstadt, and was a longtime resident of Saddle River with her husband, Dominick. She was predeceased by her parents, Lillian and Manuel Fonseca, her brother, Robert, and her husband, Dominick. Betty was a talented cook and homemaker extraordinaire. In her younger days, she enjoyed volunteering at Valley Hospital in Ridgewood, playing tennis, skiing, and antiquing. She and Dom spent their retirement in the Adirondacks. She is survived by her brother, Victor Fonseca, her daughters, Diane, Janine (Bill Cummings), her sons, Gregory (Marcy), Robert (Andrea), grandchildren, Gregory, Lillie (Peter Austin), Andrew, and Julia. We will miss her graceful demeanor and quiet strength.
