Irene P. McCarthy Obituary
McCarthy, Irene P. (nee Perello), 82, of Lyndhurst, passed away on Thursday, June 29, 2023. Irene was a lifelong resident of Lyndhurst. She is survived by her loving children, David McCarthy and his wife, Alba and Ryan McCarthy, by her dear brother and sister, Richard Perello and his wife, Louise and Vicki DeFalco and her husband, the late Joseph, by her former husband, the late Dennis McCarthy, and by Maureen and Tom Schultz.
Irene was an Executive Assistant with Howmedica, a division of Pfizer, Zenith Electronics, and Loews Theatres.
She will forever be remembered as the most loving person to all, and the most selfless person you ever met. She was incredibly caring, hard working, and very fun to be around. She loved playing games with her family, and having fun together as a tight knit unit. She was an avid filmgoer and film watcher with a lifelong love for cinema and cinemagoing.
She loved watching sports with her family, especially football and Yankee baseball.
And had a lifelong love of beaches and the New Jersey Shore. And always of course had a special place in her heart for Scraps, the family Shiba Inu.
Also known as Renee, she was very close with her beloved mother Josephine Perello, her father Joseph Perello, and will be remembered as the most loving mother to her two sons, her daughter-in-law, her sister, brother, and countless family members.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the visitation at Nazare Memorial Home, Inc., 403 Ridge Road, Lyndhurst, NJ on Sunday, July 2, 2023 from 2 – 4 PM. All will gather at the funeral home on Monday, July 3 at 9 AM then to Sacred Heart Church, Lyndhurst where at 10 AM a funeral mass will be offered. Interment, Hillside Cemetery, Lyndhurst.
