Irene M. Serzan (nee Palinski), born May 1, 1925, passed away on January 11, 2024. Irene was born in Jersey City and moved to Lyndhurst in 1954. Irene taught Kindergarten at St. Michael's School from 1967 - 1977. She was a member of the Rosary Society, Ladies Auxiliary of the Knights of Columbus #2396, St. Michael's Leisure Citizens Club, Pope John Paul II Cultural Center, AARP of Lyndhurst #4319, Coffee-Timers Bowling League, and St. Michael's Bowling League. Irene is survived by her two sons, Vincent Serzan with his wife, Eileen and Paul Serzan with his wife, Debra, five grandchildren, Diana Riedel, Debra Mitchell (Ernie), Vincent M. (Allison), Kimberly, and Christina (Mike Seergy), and seven great grandchildren. Irene is predeceased by her husband, Vincent C. Serzan, sisters, Gertrude DuBois, Helen Domalewski, and Genevieve (Jeanie) Busch, brother, Benny Palinski, and daughter, Felicia Serzan.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the visitation at Nazare Memorial Home, Inc., 403 Ridge Road, Lyndhurst, NJ on Friday, January 19, 2024 from 4 - 8 PM. All will gather at the funeral home on Saturday, January 20 at 9 AM then to St. Michael's Church, Lyndhurst where at 10 AM a funeral mass will be offered. Interment, Holy Cross Cemetery, North Arlington. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Knights of Columbus Alzheimer's Fund.
