Bernard, Terrence J., 61, died on Wednesday, April 3, 2024.  Terrence was born in New York City, moved to Lyndhurst in 1972, and lived in Maryland for over 20 years.  He worked as a programmer for the United States Coast Guard for 35 years and was a supporter of Ukraine, having visited the country twice.  Terry was predeceased by his parents, Marie "Shirley" (nee Schultz) and William J. Bernard Sr., by his brother and sister, William J. Bernard, Jr. and Geraldine Bernard, by his nephew, Billy Bernard, III, and by his cousin, Eddie Coyne.  He is survived by his wife, Olha Bernard (nee Dyachyshyn), his aunt and uncle, Audrey and Edward Coyne, his nieces, Jhonna Bernard, Dawn Axness (Chris), Catherine Bernard (Rob), Alexa Bernard, and Victoria Dyachyshyn, his great nieces and great nephews, Emma and Stephan DeMarcky, Christian, Aidan, and Declan Axness, and Harlow Sexton, his cousin, Jean Marie Stalzer, his mother-in-law, Sophia Dyachyshyn, and his brother-in-law, Yuriy Dyachyshyn (Natalie).

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the visitation at Nazare Memorial Home, Inc., 403 Ridge Road, Lyndhurst, NJ on Tuesday, April 9, 2024 from 6 - 8 PM.  All will gather at the funeral home on Wednesday, April 10 at 9 AM then to Mount Carmel Church, Lyndhurst where at 10 AM a funeral mass will be offered.  Interment, Hillside Cemetery, Lyndhurst.  You may express your condolences to Terry's family by using our tribute wall.
