I can still remember going into the Parks Dept as a high school kid and asking Mr. Pizzuti if the volleyball team could have a bus to go play in a summer league. I was terrified; he looked so intimidating! Then later, during my many years as a day camp counselor, I learned what a nice guy Ricky really was. One of Lyndhurst's best - he will surely be missed. My heartfelt condolences to his family.

I have so many wonderful memories of Chief Ricky. Passing his helmet around after the Christmas week fire so the the single dad could replace his daughter's gifts. He taught us what it means to be a leader and a firefighter.

Dear Rose, Ricky Jr. & Rachele:
I am so sorry for your loss. Ricky was a great man.
I have known Ricky, since I was a kid growing up in Lyndhurst. I had the privilege to work with Rick in the Lyndhurst Fire Service and the Parks Department. Through out the years of knowing Rick, I have always looked up to him as a father figure. Rick always had a very special way to communicate with you, like no other. He had a unique personality. He would always commend you on a job well done and let you know when you had to step it up a little. LOL as I write this. Ricky has impacted my life in may different ways, to many to mention. Rest in peace my true friend! You will be missed and never forgotten! Thank you for all the wonderful memories we had together through out the years!

Rich and my husband became friends on 15th Ave., Seaside Park. They both loved bike riding, and going to get their lottos & rub offs. We spent some time together in Boynton Beach & they stayed at our house in Port St. Lucie when we traveled. Rosie made a great dinner when we arrived & Brian had a gall bladder attack & waited till they left before he asked for an ambulance.
I was told Brian is mentoring the angels arriving - he probably welcomed Rich with open wings.!

Rick a great neighbor for 20 years. My personal dog babysitter when we were not home. My husband would anthony would see him under his truck and tell him Rick it's 2 days now let me get in there and fix it. They were the best neighbors you could get. He could tell a story like no other. Rest in Peace friend. LoveKathy Anthony and Toni Ann.
