Pollara, Salvatore F., 86, died on Monday, September 30, 2024. Mr. Pollara was born in Hackensack, and lived most of his life in Lyndhurst. Sal was owner/operator of the family business, that his father began, Pollara Trucking and Rigging of Lyndhurst for many years. In 2001, he sold the business and retired and began working for the town of Lyndhurst, where he would shuttle residents to and from doctors appointments. He was a member of Amvets #20 and Italian/American Club, both of Lyndhurst. He was an avid motorcycle rider and member of Cyclepaths of Newark. Sal is survived by his children, Lisa Pollara, Sal Pollara,Tiana Somoza (Peter), Angela Sontz (Robert), Vincent Pollara, Genna Pollara and Gina Ravaioli (Richard), by his dear grandchildren, Michael, Yusuf, Amir, Gabriella, Valentina,Juliette, Christian, Cassidy, Cameron, Ceiran, Cai, Harlow, Elizabeth and Marco.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the visitation held at Nazare Memorial Home, Inc., 403 Ridge Road, Lyndhurst, on Wednesday, October 2, 2024 from 4-8PM. All will gather at the funeral home on Thursday, October 3, 2024 at 9 AM. Funeral service begins at 10AM. Interment to follow, St. Joseph's Cemetery, Lyndhurst.
