Obituary of Helen C. Wines

Sammartino-Wines, Helen C., 88, of North Arlington, died on Friday, October 18, 2024.  Mrs. Wines was born and raised in Brooklyn, NY, moved to Jersey City in 1954, and spent time in St. Pete Beach, FL in her later years.  She owned Helen's Snackbar in Jersey City and owned apartment rental units, Gulf Plaza Apartments, while in Florida.  Helen is survived by her loving son, Joseph Sammartino and his wife, Maria.  She was the cherished grandmother of the late Joseph and his wife, Anna, Anthony and his wife, Grisel, Michael and his wife, Kathy, Frank, and Nikki, great grandmother of Joseph and his wife, Ava, Giana, Michael, Nicholas, Ava, Anthony "AJ," and Isabella, great-great grandmother of Joseph, and dear sister of Linda, Richard and his wife, Diana, and Ronald and his wife, Joann.  She was predeceased by her sister and brothers, Anna, George, and O'Neill and is survived by many nieces and nephews.  

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the memorial mass at Sacred Heart Church, 324 Ridge Road, Lyndhurst, NJ on Wednesday, October 23, 2024 at 10 AM.  Please arrive at church at 9:45 AM.  Interment of cremains will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, North Arlington.  Please omit flowers and instead consider a donation to Veterans Affairs online by clicking here.  You may express your condolences to Helen's family by using our tribute wall.
