Stack, Thomas J., 71, died on Sunday, November 10, 2024, surrounded by his loving family. Thomas was born in Jersey City in 1953 and resided there until he married Deborah Stack (McCann) in 1980. They then lived in Secaucus, before settling down in Lyndhurst in 1982. In 1985 Thomas’ whole world changed with the birth of his one and only, a daughter, named Kimberly. When Kimberly was born Tom made “Heaven” by Bryan Adams her birth song.
Thomas was an electrical engineer/elevator consultant for VDA Associates of East Hanover, working mostly throughout New York City, and was considered the "go to" guy to get the job done right. His love for life and family, was expressed through music, astronomy, science and his generosity. Tom was an avid and loyal fan of some of rock and rolls true legends such as, Black Sabbath, Led Zeppelin, Guns & Roses, Rolling Stones, Motley Crue, Joe Cocker, Ozzy Osbourne’s solo projects and Type o Negative, to name a few. The very first concert he took his daughter to was a KISS concert. Tom and Kim went to Ozzfest every summer to see the metal bands play and to hang out with like-minded rock n roll folks! Sometimes even Debbie joined them!
He appreciated the theatre as well and introduced his daughter, Kimberly to both music and musical theater as a small child. Kim’s first brush with over the top theater was at the age of 3, Tom let her watch The Rocky Horror Picture Show and from that point on she was hooked.
Thanksgiving was a holiday cherished by Tom and his daughter. They considered the meal their masterpiece and would wake up 5, have coffee on the deck while Venus was still visible. It has always held a special place in their hearts. The turkey and fixings were always prepped by Tom and Kim which started promptly at 6. Kim would create a playlist of all of their favorite music so they could sing along while they were cooking and rocking out.
One of his mantra songs included a GNR song and he affectionately referred to Kimberly, as his "Sweet Child O' Mine."
Tom's loss has left us very sad and he will be missed deeply by all. We imagine him singing these words to us ...
"And love is all that I need
And I found it there in your heart
Isn't too hard to see
We're in heaven" Bryan Adams.
Tom is survived by his beloved wife of 44 years, Deborah (nee McCann) , by his Loving daughter, Kimberly Stack & her husband, Steven., by his sister and brothers, Kathleen Viaud (Hughes), John Stack, Jr. (Carol) and Robert Stack (Linda), by his "Buddy", his furever friend, by his "grand" animals, Daisy and Gracie, Ophelia and Kitty, by his nieces and nephews and countless friends.
