Obituary of Theresa Geramita
It is with deep sadness that the family of Theresa Geramita (née Carucci, formerly Rubertone) announces her peaceful passing at the age of 98. Terri was born on May 1, 1926, in New Jersey, the beloved daughter of Giuseppe Carucci and Margaret Cafaro, and one of six siblings. In 1965, she married the love of her life, James Rubertone, and together they welcomed their cherished son, Jimmy Rubertone.
Terri is survived by her devoted son, his wife Sharon, their children Kelly, Allison, and TJ, and her six great-grandchildren. She also leaves behind a large and loving extended family of nieces, nephews, and countless others whose lives she touched. A woman of rare humility and boundless empathy, Terri became a grandmother figure to many beyond her own family.
Terri was a gentle soul who believed that love didn’t require changing someone—it meant accepting them as they were. She embodied selflessness, teaching two generations what unconditional love truly meant. Her enduring motto, "You work hard, but you have to play harder," encouraged joy even in life’s toughest moments.
She showed up for everyone, always. Whether comforting someone in sadness or listening with an open, judgment-free heart when mistakes were made, she was a constant source of support and love.
Her legacy of kindness, compassion, and resilience will live on in the countless lives she touched. Terri taught us to celebrate life, love deeply, and be there for one another, no matter what. She will be profoundly missed but forever remembered.
