Giarrusso, Vito, 84, died on Thursday, November 21, 2024 surrounded by his loving family, after a tough battle with cancer. He fought with all his strength until the very end.
Vito was born in Sicily, at the age of 18 moved to Milan and served in the Italian military. He immigrated to the United States on June 29, 1977. He was the proud owner /operator Vi-A-Mari Construction of Lyndhurst. His artistic ways were admired, loved and respected by so many people and along with his talent as a builder, his business became an empire. Vito raised his family in Lyndhurst, in the house he built on his own. He enjoyed working with his hands. Building things, drawing, sculpting, gardening and writing poetry. Gardening was also a great labor of love, where he grew his own fresh figs and grapes to make homemade wine. Vito’s Favorite love besides his family was his cars. He would take up a block to line up his cars on a Sunday before the traditional Italian feast. He would wash and wax his cars by hand. He never sat still. Always inventing and creating something new. To know Vito is to love and respect him and he will be so greatly missed by his family and friends. His kindness touched so many people lives. Vito will watch over us and protect us with his loved ones in heaven. Rip
