Obituary of Ralph C. Di Pietro
Ralph Charles Di Pietro, 76, passed on Sunday, December 15, 2024. Ralph was born in Jersey City to Josephine and Salvatore Di Pietro. As the oldest child, he was a great brother to his younger siblings, Corrine and Salvatore Jr.
He grew up in Hoboken where he went to Hoboken High School. This is where he his love of sports grew, and he could be seen playing football, basketball, hockey, and baseball. He grew up also loving music and singing. Neighbors that could hear him from his music room said he had a great voice. After graduating he went straight to the workforce. He worked at Petrie Store Co. in Secaucus, where he met his wife, Magdalene. At the time of retirement, Ralph worked as a crossing guard for Lyndhurst. Ralph could make friends out of anyone and was a known jokester making people laugh. He was a part of a club, the Flying Deuces Sons of the Desert, whose goal was to remember, perpetuate and continue the comedic arts of Stan Laurel and Oliver Hardy. With is love of sports, he had New York Jets seasons tickets since 1968 to his dying day. He would go to all the games and loved tailgating with his brother-in-law, Thomas, and friends. He was also a Catholic and a parishioner of Sacred Heart Church, where he was an usher for many years and where he joined the Knights of Columbus.Ralph was loved by many families and friends. He is survived by his beloved wife Magdalene, married 39 years, his loving daughter, Lea, his siblings, Corrine Di Pietro Roseman, married to Thomas Roseman, and Salvatore Di Pietro, and his niece, Melisa Roseman.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the visitation held at Nazare Memorial Home Inc, 403 Ridge Road, Lyndhurst on Wednesday, December 18, 2024, from 4 – 8 PM. All will gather at the funeral home on Thursday, December 19, 2024, at 8 AM. Then to Sacred Heart Church, where at 9 AM a Funeral Mass will be offered. Entombment to follow, Holy Cross Mausoleum. You may express condolences to Ralph’s family by using our tribute wall.
