Obituary of Michael W. Jewusiak

Michael W. Jewusiak, age 80 of Panama City Beach, Florida, passed away peacefully on Monday, December 23, 2024 at Ascension Sacred Heart Bay Medical Center in Panama City, Florida after a long illness.

Michael was born in Newark, New Jersey on January 18, 1944.  Michael is predeceased by his parents William V. Jewusiak and Bernice (Wosczyna) Jewusiak Castiglia.

Growing up in Lyndhurst, New Jersey, he joined the US Navy after high school where his love of cooking started his career as a chef.  During his career as a chef he worked in many restaurants across the United States.  Michael owned his own restaurant “Mike’s Place” in Key West, Florida for many years before retiring in Panama City Beach Florida more than a dozen years ago.

Michael enjoyed baking, cooking, fishing and being with his many friends in Panama City Beach.

Michael is survived by his sister Barbara Ann Critelli, his niece Elizabeth (Lisa) Critelli Turnage and her husband John Turnage of New Jersey.

Michael will be laid to rest in the family plot next to his parents at Holy Cross Cemetery in North Arlington, New Jersey at a graveside service held on Saturday, January 4, 2025,  Funeral arrangements are entrusted to Nazare Memorial Home, 403 Ridge Road, Lyndhurst, New Jersey.
