Obituary of John J. Mitchell

Mitchell. John J., 89, died on Tuesday, May 14, 2013. Mr. Mitchell was born and raised in Hoboken, living in Lyndhurst since 1994. He served in the National Guard during WWII. He was a Longshoreman for Seatrain, Edgewater for over 30 years retiring in 1982. John was a parishioner of Holy Innocents Church in Hoboken where he devoted much of his time and service. John is survived by his beloved wife of 66 years, Amelia (nee Jacobsen) Mitchell, his loving children, John Mitchell, Jr. & his wife, Toni, Margaret Lepore & her partner, Judith O'Neill, Cathy Felicies & her husband, Jariel, Lori Meier & her husband, William, by his dear grandchildren, Kelly Ann, Christine, Andrew, JJ, Brandon, Kati, William Jr. and Ryan, his great-grandchildren, Joshua, Tara and Rebecca and his brother, Richard Mitchell. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral from the Nazare Memorial Home, Inc., 403 Ridge Road, Lyndhurst on Saturday, May 18, 2013 at 9:30AM then to Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, Lyndhurst where at 10:30 AM a Funeral Mass will be offered. Interment Holy Cross Cemetery, North Arlington. Visiting hours Friday 2-4 & 7-9PM
