Obituary of Salvatore J Gentile

Gentile, Salvatore J. 95, died on Monday May 10, 2010. Mr. Gentile was born in Manhattan, lived in Lyndhurst for most of his life, and North Arlington for the past five years. He owned and operated S. Gentile Painter and Paper Hanging of Lyndhurst for over 50 years retiring in 1995. He was a former Grand Knight of the Knights of Columbus, a member of Amvets Post #20, BPO Elks Lodge #1505, and the Holy Name Society of Sacred Heart Church all of Lyndhurst. Salvatore is predeceased by his daughter, Sally Ann Gentile Frank in 1971, and his beloved wife, Antoinette �Betty� (nee Benedetto) in 1994. He is survived by his loving daughter, Judy Fields and her husband Jim of Butler, four grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, two brothers and two sisters. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral from the Nazare Memorial Home, Inc., 403 Ridge Road, Lyndhurst on Friday May 14, 2010 at 9AM. Then To Sacred Heart Church, Lyndhurst where at 10AM a Funeral Mass will be offered. Interment Hillside Cemetery, Lyndhurst. Visiting hours Thursday 4-8PM. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to North Arlington Emergency Squad, Schuyler Ave., North Arlington, N.J.
