Freda, Louis S. "Skip," 77, of Lyndhurst, died on Tuesday, May 27, 2014 after a long battle with Heart Disease. Mr. Freda was a life long resident of Lyndhurst. He served in the 50th Battalion of The National Guard from 1958 to 1961. He was the Owner of Lou's Auto Sales of Lyndhurst for over 50 years. He met the love of his life Angela at age 15. They were married on November 6, 1954 at Queen of Peace Church in North Arlington. This coming November would have marked their 60th Wedding Anniversary. Lou who was fondly referred to as �Skip� by friends and family has been around horses most of his life. At, 24 Lou laid out an 80 by 200 feet stretch of land along Riverside Ave where locals came to learn the art of calf roping and children enjoyed pony rides. This enthusiasm for horses later turned to harness racing. This love for horses was later trumped for that of antique cars and memorabilia. A long time member of many car clubs and frequenter of car shows, Lou had almost as many hobbies as he did friends. Louis is survived by his beloved wife, Angela (nee Fernandez) Freda, by his loving sons, Louis S. Freda, Jr. & his partner Michael of 29 years, Jim Freda & his girlfriend, Kim, by his dear grandchildren, Alicia "Precious" Matarazzo & her husband, Anthony and Jackalyn "Jackie" Brienza & her husband, Joey, by his great-grandaughters, Alicia and Jamielynn and by his sister, Marianne Caroselli James. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral from the Nazare Memorial Home, Inc., 403 Ridge Road, Lyndhurst on Friday, May 30, 2014 at 10AM. Entombment Holy Cross Chapel Mausoleum, North Arlington. Visiting hours Thursday 4-8PM.
