Sammarone, Sabatino C., 81, died on Wednesday, October 29, 2014 at his residence. Mr. Sammarone was born in Italy, came to New York City in 1946, lived in Lyndhurst for over 50 years and was a resident of Hamburg for the past 10 years. He was the Head Chef at Ponte's Restaurant, Manhattan for over 35 years before retiring in 1992. He then worked part time as a Chef at Savioli's Restaurant, Franklin for the past 10 years. Sabatino is predeceased by his beloved wives, Rose (nee Avallone) Sammarone in 1980 and Katherine (nee Lo Bue) Sammarone in 2013, by his brothers, Serafino and Julio Sammarone and by his granddaughter, Danielle Apolito. He is survived by his loving children, Sabatino A. Sammarone & his wife, Barbara, Robert Sammarone & his wife, Rebecca, Alex Sammarone & his wife, Kelly, Angelo Sammarone, Cheryl Parent and her husband, Bill, Denise Policelli and her husband, Michael, Lynette Apolito and her husband, Jeff, Maria Gacek & her husband, Kenneth, 15 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral from the Nazare Memorial Home, Inc, 403 Ridge Road, Lyndhurst on Monday, November 3, 2014 at 10AM then to Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, Lyndhurst where at 11AM a Funeral Mass will be offered. Interment Holy Cross Cemetery, North Arlington. Visiting hours Sunday 2-6PM.
