Obituary of Ann Jane Bongiovanni

Bongiovanni, Ann Jane (nee Coleman), 68, went to God on Monday, March 30, 2015. Ann Jane was born and raised in Jersey City, where she met and married Joseph Bongiovanni in 1969 and lived there until moving to Lyndhurst, where she has been a resident for the past 27 years. Ann Jane loved working with children and teaching. She taught at St. Anne's Grammar School of Jersey City, worked at CYO (Archdiocese of Newark) Retreat Center in Kearny, Felician College and more recently as a Day Care Administrator for Meadowlands Area YMCA, North Arlington retiring in 2009. She is predeceased by her parents, Edward & Claire Coleman and by her father and mother in law, David & Mary Bongiovanni. Ann Jane is survived by her beloved husband of 45 years, Joseph A. Bongiovanni, COL, USA (Ret.), by her daughter, Mary Claire Bongiovanni, by her brothers and sisters, Mary Donnelly (Paul), Claire Hamilton, Edward Coleman (Maureen) and Joseph Coleman (Debra), by her brother in laws, Frank Bongiovanni (Vicky) and David Bongiovanni (Anne). She is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews and grand nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral from the Nazare Memorial Home, Inc., 403 Ridge Road, Lyndhurst on Saturday, April 4, 2015 at 8:30AM then to Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, Lyndhurst, where at 9:30AM a Funeral Mass will be offered. Cremation private. Visiting hours Friday 3-7PM. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Ann Jane's memory to American Cancer Society, 20 Mercer Street, Hackensack, NJ 07601.
