Obituary of Herbert J. Schoepe

Schoepe, Herbert J. 87, of Bergenfield, died on Wednesday, July 28, 2010. Mr. Schoepe was born and raised in Bronx, NY and had moved to Bergenfield, NJ where he has been a resident since 1957. He was a WWII Veteran who served in the Army from 1945 to 1946 and the Air Corps during The Korean War 1950 to 1953. He worked as a Chemist for S.B. Penick Chemical Co. of Lyndhurst for 25 years, retiring in 1985. He worked for the Tenafly Library as a Library Page for 23 years until May 2010. Herbert was predeceased by his beloved wife, the late Gerda (nee Gassmann) Schoepe in 2001 and his sisters, the late Paula Hanke, Heln Burkhart, Louise Spicciati and brother, the late Otto Schoepe. He is survived by his loving daughters, Gerda Schoepe of Bergenfield and Maria Keogh & her husband, Bruce of Mahwah, his two dear grandchildren, Jonathan and Grace Keogh and by his sister, Olga Kavanagh of Florida. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Mass held at St. John the Evangelist Church, Bergenfield on Saturday, July 31, 2010 at 9 AM. Interment Maryrest Cemetery, Mahwah. Visiting Friday 2-4 & 7-9 PM. Arrangements by Nazare Memorial Home, Inc., 403 Ridge Road, Lyndhurst.
