Schaal, Charles R. "Bob", 86, died on Monday, October 12, 215. Bob was a life long resident of Lyndhurst. He was a Claims Manager for Prudential Ins. Co. for 35 years before retiring in 1989. He is survived by his beloved wife of 62 years, Marie G. (nee Botti), by his loving children, Deborah Spencer & her husband, William, Kevin R. Schaal & his wife, Jennifer, Brian Schaal & his wife, Christine, by his eight dear grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Also survived by his sister, Joan Mondon and brother-in-law, Peter Kovalski. After his love for his family, Bob's second biggest love was the Lyndhurst Volunteer Fire Department. Joining in 1954, he became Chief in 1976. He was elected as Bergen County Executive Committeeman of the NJ State Firemans Association, where in 1989, he became Vice President and served as such for the next six years. He was a member of the NJ Firemen's Home Association in Boonton. Bob also served on the Board of Trustees for the Bergen County Fire Academy. His love for the fire service inspired his two sons, son-in-law and grandson to become volunteer fireman. Bob has answered his Last Call. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral form the Nazare Memorial Home, Inc., 403 Ridge Road, Lyndhurst on Friday, October 16, 2015 at 8:30AM the to Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church , Lyndhurst where at 9:30 AM a Funeral Mass will be offered. Interment Holy Name Cemetery, Jersey City. Visiting hours Wednesday 7-9PM and Thursday 2-4 & 7-9PM.
