Alexander "Alex" Joseph Tannucilli Jr.,age 72, died suddenly, December 6, 2015 on Big Pine Key, Florida. Mr. Tanuccilli was born in Jersey city and was a resident of the Florida Keys. Alex was a graduate of Pope Pius the XII High School, Passaic, N. J., Seton Hall University undergraduate and Law Schools as well as receiving a Masters of Foreign Service from Georgetown University. He served as a Captain in the United States Army Military Intelligence Corps in Germany. He was a member of the VFW, American Legion and Disabled American Veterans as well as numerous other military related organizations. Admitted to the N.J. Bar in l989, Alex had his own law firm in Lyndhurst, N.J. for many years until retiring and moving to Big Pine Key in the lower Florida Keys. Alex was a Fourth Degree Knight of Columbus and served as the Grand Knight of the Big Pine Key Chapter of St. Peter Church. In addition he was a member of the Big Pine Key United States Coast Guard Auxiliary. Alex is predeceased by parents, Alexander and Rose Tannucilli. He is survived by his companion, Katie McCarthy, his brother Jack and wife Elaine, his sister Diane and her husband Carmen Della Sala. Loving Uncle of Danielle Lopes and husband, Joseph, Anthony Della Sala and wife, Dawn, John and Mark Tannucilli. Great Uncle of Joseph and Daniel Lopes, A.J. and Gianna Rose Della Sala. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Memorial Mass at St. Michael's Church, Ridge Road in Lyndhurst on Monday, December 21, 2015 at 10:30AM. Memorial Visiting will held in the Nazare Memorial Home, Inc. on Sunday from 2-5PM. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to the Little Sisters of the Poor in Totowa at www.thelittlesistersofthepoortotowa.org.
