Paterno, Vincent A., 95, died on Monday, April 25, 2016. Mr. Paterno was a life long resident of Lyndhurst. He was an Army Air Corp. Veteran serving during WWII and was a Purple Heart recipient. Vincent was the Owner of Hill Top Friendly Service in Lyndhurst for over 40 years, retiring in 1988. He was also a member of the VFW #3549 and Columbus Club, both of Lyndhurst. Vincent was predeceased by his beloved wife, Josephine (nee Ciallella) Paterno in 2005 and by his grandson, Jason Metzinger in 2011. He is survived by his loving children, Kathy Burns & her husband, Dan, Marilyn Metzinger & her husband, Paul and Anthony Paterno & his wife, Mariangela, by his dear grandchildren, Danielle & Tonianne Paterno, Paul & Bryan Metzinger and Jessica Burns and by his sister, Marie McDonald. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral from the Nazare Memorial Home, Inc., 403 Ridge Road, Lyndhurst on Friday, April 29, 2016 at 10AM then to Sacred Heart Church, Lyndhurst where a 11AM Funeral Mass will be offered. Entombment Holy Cross Chapel Mausoleum, North Arlington. Visiting Hours Thursday 4-8 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Vincent's memory to Crohn's & Colitis Foundation of America, 45 Wilson Avenue, Manalapan, NJ 07726 or www.ccfa.org.
