Edwin Diaz , 52 of Lyndhurst, formerly of Berkeley Heights, died on Wednesday, May 18, 2016. Born in Bayamon, Puerto Rico, he grew up in Elizabeth, lived in Berkeley Heights and has been a resident of Lyndhurst since 2014. Ed graduated from Rutgers University in New Brunswick, receiving his bachelor's degree in landscape architecture. He worked as a Senior Technical Specialist for Sika Corporation in Lyndhurst for 28 years. He is survived by his parents, Manuel and Providencia Diaz Vazquez, cherished daughter Karime Victoria Diaz, and her mother Ana Zeik-Chediak. He was the dear brother of Myriam Rivera and her husband Jorge, Manuel Diaz Vazquez and his partner Rolando Ramirez, and Alfredo Diaz and his partner Curt Sorenson, beloved uncle of Moises Rivera, and dear godfather to his godchildren. He also leaves behind his loving girlfriend Robyn Piserchia to cherish his memory. Ed will be remembered as a kind hearted man and a well known individual. He was a great friend to all who knew him, and he never failed to bring a smile to all who had the pleasure of meeting him. He was the epitome of a team player, always looking to mentor and help out others. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral from the Nazare Memorial Home, Inc., 403 Ridge Road, Lyndhurst on Saturday, May 21, 2016 at 8 AM then to Sacred Heart Church, Lyndhurst where at 9 AM a Funeral Mass will be offered. Entombment will follow at Hollywood Memorial Park Mausoleum in Union, NJ. Visiting hours Friday, May 20 from 5 - 9 PM. In lieu of flowers, in Ed's memory donations may be made to the charity of your choice.
