DeLillo, Darlene P., 65, passed away peacefully Tuesday, October 25, 2016 after a five year courageous battle with cancer. Born on June 6, 1951, Darlene was a 30 year resident of Lyndhurst. A generous and kind soul, Darlene loved her family and friends, spending most of her time in Lyndhurst or Long Beach Island. A graduate of St. Mary's High School, Rutherford, Darlene went on to receive a BS Degree from Rutgers University, Newark. Darlene loved to travel, starting early with her student exchange participation to study in England in the early 1970's. Retiring in 2016, Darlene concluded a 43 year career in the publishing industry working with such quality publishing houses as; Dell, Harper Collins, Avon Books and most recently a seven year span at Simon & Schuster as a Global Program Manager for Rhonda Byrnes's "The Secret". Darlene is survived by her mother, Mary, two sisters, Cheryl Forst and Maryann Virack, three brothers, Robert, Michael and James DeLillo, her nieces, Jessica Forst-Magazzu, Melissa Forst, Kristin Beneventi, Nephews, Robert DeLillo, Jr., Benjamin DeLillo, Walter Virack, Jr., Great Nephews, Niko Beneventi and Joseph Timothy Magazzu. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the visitation held at Nazare Memorial Home on Saturday, October 29, 2016 from 8:30AM-9:45AM. Then to Sacred Heart Church, Lyndhurst, for a 10AM Funeral Mass. Interment St. Michael's Cemetery, South Hackensack. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Darlene's memory to Memorial Sloan Kettering @ giving.mskcc.org.
