Obituary of James E. Gillen

Gillen, Jr., James E."Buddy",84, of Lyndhurst, died on Friday, April 14, 2017 at his home. Mr. Gillen was born and raised in Jersey City and has been a resident of Lyndhurst for most of his life. He was a Korean War army veteran. Buddy was a Bus Driver working for NJ Transit of Jersey City for 30 years, retiring in 1996. Jim is survived by his beloved wife of 58 years, Nora T. Gillen (nee Walsh), by his loving children, James E. Gillen, III & his wife, the late, Donna Gillen (July 2016), Noreen Witte & her husband, Thomas, Patricia Magee & her husband, James and John Gillen & his wife, Tracy, by his dear grandchildren, Shannon, Kelley and Katelyn Gillen, Nicole & Christopher Witte, Sarah & J.C. Magee and Jonathan Gillen, by his brother, Joseph Gillen & his wife, Rita and the Late, Marylou Caroccia as well as many nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the visitation on Monday, April 17, 2017 held at Nazare Memorial Home, Inc., 403 Ridge Road, Lyndhurst from 4 - 8PM. All will gather at the funeral home on Tuesday at 9AM then to Sacred Heart Church, Lyndhurst where at 10AM a Funeral Mass will be offered. Entombment Holy Cross Cemetery, North Arlington. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in his memory to Alzheimer's New Jersey, 400 Morris Avenue Ste. 251, Denville, New Jersey 07834-1365.
