Obituary of Joel J. Lafrano

Lafrano, Joel J., 65, died on Tuesday, May 23, 2017. Mr. Lafrano was born in Jersey City, NJ, grew up in North Arlington, and lived in Paramus for 25 years, where he raised his family. Upon retiring in 2014, he moved to Forked River. He attended high school at St. Peter's Preparatory School and received his bachelor's degree from St. Peter's College. Joel worked as a pharmaceutical sales representative for Novartis Pharmaceuticals Corporation in East Hanover. In addition to his work, he was a member of the North Arlington Volunteer Fire Department for 10 years and was also a certified meditation guide, which he held a strong interest in. Mr. Lafrano was a simple man who always put his family first as his true passion. He was an avid reader and a lifelong Beatles fan. Joel is survived by his beloved wife of 31 years, Leslie Lafrano (nee Beshar), by his two loving sons, George Leontaris and Michael Lafrano, by his cherished grandchildren, Nico and Logan, by his dear sisters, Janice Varela and Jaimie Lafrano - Farley and many nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Memorial Service held at Holy Cross Chapel Mausoleum, North Arlington on Wednesday, May 31, 2017 at 11AM. Inurnment to follow. Cremation was private. As flowers are not permitted in mausoleum, please make a donation in his memory to American Heart Association, 2550 US Highway #1, North Brunswick, NJ 08902.
