Friedrichs, Walter L., 88, of Lyndhurst, died on Tuesday, October 19, 2010. Mr. Friedrichs was born in Jersey City and has been a resident of Lyndhurst for most of his life. He was a WWII Army Veteran. He worked for The U.S. Postal Service as Safety Officer for 46 years, retiring in 1987. He worked on the Lyndhurst Police Emergency Squad for 50 years, the Hackensack University Medical Center E.R. Dept. for 10 years, an American Red Cross Instructor for 15 years, Deputy Commissioner Emergency Squad, Coordination Officer of Emergency Mgmt., District 24 V.P. N.J. State First Aid Council member, as well as Historical Society, Friendship Club and Sacred Heart Seniors, all of Lyndhurst. Walter was predeceased by his beloved wife, the late Agnes (nee Taggart) Friedrichs in 1990. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral from Nazare Memorial Home, Inc., on Saturday, October 23, 2010 at 9 AM then to Sacred Heart Church, Lyndhurst where at 10 AM a Funeral Mass will be offered. Interment Hillside Cemetery. Visiting hours Friday 4-6 PM
