Gerardo’s family: I'm so sorry for your loss. I went through a similar situation and I was very helped by the hope that I found in the Bible in John 5:28, which says, "Do not amazed at this, for the hour is coming in which all those in the memorial tombs will hear his voice and come out". I am sending you a link with more information on this hope.

My Uncle Jerry was always a good-hearted, funny man who enjoyed life and the people he met and who loved his family. When I was a little girl, we lived upstairs from Uncle Jerry and Grandma and Grandpa. I remember he was always at the little birthdays my mother would throw for me. He was up to fix the electric in the dining room ceiling fixture. He was there to take us to cemetary to visit my father's grave on Sunday. He and my mother were there for each other.
I met his girlfriend for the first time, Carmela Inglese, outside our house when she came to visit Uncle Jerry. Uncle Jerry said that she "won me over with an ice cream cone" that she bought me from Schluer's, the candy store next door to us. After he and Aunt Carmela were married and lived on Orchard Street, I was there all the time and always welcome. So were the neighbors and friends around us.
Uncle Jerry always had his world and political views that he'd share with all of us. We used to say "Happy Birdday" instead of "Happy Birthday" because we smiled at how Uncle Jerry said it and it reminded us of him. He was a warm, cheerful man who enjoyed all the good things in his life and who was always good to me. I told Gerard that now he's with Aunt Carmela and they're both flying around because they're Angels. Gerard said that he'd sure that Aunt Carmela's been talking God's ear off, giving her a piece of her mind. They're both together now and I have fantastic memories with both of them. We love you, Uncle Jerry and Aunt Carmela.
