Meech was very special member of our family, a wonderful and loving husband, father and grandfather as well as a veteran who served our country. He will be missed by all of his family, friends and those who were lucky to have met him. He will live in our hearts.

The first time I heard about Joe and met him was around 1978. My daughter Lisa and Gina were about the same age. Gina had gotten her pocketbook strap wrapped in her bicycle wheel and she was telling my brother and I, that we had to fix this problem . Because we did not know how mean her Dad was and he was going to kill her. My brother Victor fixed the problem, and we thought what a bad person Joe was . We met him shortly after this and told him about Gina's episode and what she has said about him. Oh my god he was the nicest person that you ever met, not the picture that Gina painted of him. We still talk about the bicycle incident after all these years and laugh about it. You will be missed by all

I would like to send my deepest condolences to the entire family. I can only pray that you will find peace knowing that he is no longer suffering, and that you all did the most unselfish thing by making sure his wishes were abided by. Always remember just how much he loved you and that he will always be there in spirit. May he rest easy and have eternal peace.

Meech was my father-in-law and friend. He lived around the corner from me the past 3 years and took my son to school every morning. There was nothing he wouldn't do for his wife, daughters and grandchildren.
I think a man's life is ultimately judged by the influences he had on others. I am grateful that I had a chance in the hospital to tell him just how much I loved and appreciated him for the many positive influences he had on my life. I will forever honor his memory by being the best husband to his daughter and father to his grandson. Rest in peace Joe. Save a Coors Light for me.
