Obituary of Allen Wallentine

Wallentine, Allen, 62, of Jersey City, passed away on Monday, May 18, 2020.  Allen was born on February 25, 1958 in Jersey City where he was a lifelong resident.  Mr. Wallentine was a graduate of Dickinson High School and Fairleigh Dickinson Univeristy.  He was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church and was an Eagle Scout with the Boy Scouts Troop 481 there. Allen was the owner of Reusch’s Deli & Liquor on Nelson Avenue in Jersey City where he worked from age 15 until buying the business in 1984.  His children referred to him as "The Mayor of Nelson Avenue."  Allen loved people and was always there to lend a helping hand.  He loved all of his customers and treated them as extended family.  He was loved by many, will be truly missed, and was a man who touched so many.

 

He is predeceased by his parents, George and Babette Wallentine (nee Kolb) and by his sister, Margaret Muirhead.  He is survived by his loving children, Erin Wallentine and her boyfriend, Federico Rosales, and Jonathan and Emily Wallentine, by his grandchildren, Christian and Alexander, by his sister, Linda Stisi and her husband, Dominick, by his brother, Steven Wallentine and his wife, Rosie, by his brother-in-law, Brian Muirhead, by his partner, Nellie, her two daughters, Allison and Laura, and her grandchildren, Brayden and Landon.  He is further survived by many nieces, nephews, and friends.
