“Mrs. Roderick”, as I first knew her, was a kind and joyful woman despite heartache. I worked at Sacred Heart Rectory from age 14 to age 21 (1975 - 1982), first as a night and Saturday receptionist and then assisting Mrs. Edith Chalenski, the parish bookkeeper. Ann was the parish secretary before she worked at the Juvenile Aid Bureau. Ann, along with Edith and other kind women who worked at the rectory, the already elderly Deirdre (housekeeper with Irish brogue), Mildred D (laundress) and the parish cook shared more love and kindness with me during my high school and college years than I found in my own home. They gave me encouragement and counsel when I needed it most. They showed me that women of faith are decent and helped me stay faithful when home was heartless. They were my refuge. At age 18, I served as a Juvenile Conference Committee volunteer member with Ann, listening to the cases of youthful, nonviolent first offenders and trying to help them learn and not get into trouble again. I admired Ann. I loved Ann. She suffered greatly at the loss of her son Michael and no matter what, week after week she visited her Ray, as he slipped further into no longer knowing her until God took him home. I was delighted when Ann remarried and became Mrs. Chiaro and so happy for her that God gave joy and companionship to a lady who deserved this.
Ann, I have no doubt that you are in God’s tender arms, reunited with your family now and that God has said to you well done good and faithful servant. I will always remember you with love and gratitude. You made a difference in my life. Thank you. Rest In Peace dear friend. You mattered and made a difference in my life.

Dearest Auntie...With a saddened heart I must say goodbye. Remembering all the times we shared, laughing, shopping, talking about life, your wisdom, your bubbly self, a sile that lit up a room and the beautiful music you played on the piano. You’ve touched so many lives in a positive way especially mine. I love you and will cherish all these moments. May you be at rest at the right hand of the father and feel all his glory upon you. In Jesus name I pray! Rose

Dear Rosemary & Mary Elaine - your Aunt Antoinette was my father's first cousin - Kelly Petrocelli, also Frank Petrocelli and Josephine Delfino. My father passed away on June 3, 2018. My mother Florence passed away on April 5, 2017.
I am deeply saddened by your loss. Antoinette was the last member of that generation. I remember visiting when I was a little girl and how kind she was to me and my sisters and brothers. It was so nice to spend time with them.
My father Kelly often told us stories when he was growing up and the time he spent in New Jersey. Stories of his Uncle Mike, Uncle Gabriel and my grandmother Assunta Petrocelli ( Castellucci ). They are wonderful memories for me.
Please hold your memories in your hearts and cherish them forever.
Susan Healy (Petrocelli)

Loved Mrs Roderick....she was always so kind and welcoming. I used to stop and say “hi” often while she worked at the rectory. My condolences to her family. May she rest in eternal peace always.

Antoinette was a sweet soul and was so kind to me during my time at Sacred Heart. Many fond memories of having breakfast with her, Nick and the ladies after the daily Mass. May the angels lead her into Paradise!
