Rita DiLascio

Obituary of Rita A. DiLascio

Please share a memory of Rita to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

DiLascio, Rita, 90, passed away on September 14, 2021.  Beloved wife of the late John DiLascio.  Loving mother of her two sons, John DiLascio and his wife, Kathie and Richard DiLascio and his wife, Kathleen.  Rita was the adored grandmother of Kristie DiLascio, John DiLascio, Tracey DiLascio Martinuk and her husband, Tom, and Kimberly Darling and her husband, Brian.  She also had two cherished great grandchildren, Olivia Darling and Sascha DiLascio Martinuk.

Rita was a proud, lifelong resident of Lyndhurst.  She remembered everyone and their family.  Rita always had a nice story or memory to share about them and always with a smile.  She was an avid sports enthusiast and a never-ending, tireless supporter of the “Golden Bears.”  A proud member of the Lyndhurst Booster Club, from its inception in the 1940’s, Rita loved being in the bleachers or the Booster Club’s concession stand, serving food and cheering on student/athletes – in all sports.  She was a long-time member of the Lyndhurst PTAs, a parishioner of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, their Rosary Society and a variety of senior groups.

Always willing to help anyone or any cause, especially when our schools and children were involved.  Rita was a great supporter of the Lyndhurst Education Fund, helping raise thousands upon thousands of dollars for Lyndhurst’s children.  She was a tireless campaigner for school improvement, devoting an enormous amount of time and energy to help provide students opportunity for success.

Funeral arrangements are private and under the direction of Nazare Memorial Home, Inc., 403 Ridge Road, Lyndhurst, NJ by request of her family and because Rita wants everyone to be safe and remain healthy.  At her request, a memorial service will be planned for a future date.  Please no flowers and instead, donations can be made in Rita’s memory to the Lyndhurst Police Emergency Squad, 297 Delafield Avenue, Lyndhurst, NJ 07071 or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.  You may express your condolences to Rita's family by using our tribute wall.
