Dearest Cousin Mary,
I’ve always cherished how you remembered so many details of my life over the years including the last time we saw each other in Missouri. It took me a little while to convince you I wasn’t in your room to take you to dinner, and instead I was who I said I was. But once you remembered you also remembered my Christmas Cards. Rest in peace.

Mary..so many heartfelt memories when I was involved with you in the Union City School System during my 30 years there..You were always a prime source to reach out to at the UCBOE..You were always ready for a helping hand and I always enjoyed our times together at the many functions and events during that time, inclusive, of the festivities I threw for the many who would retire from time to time! Your laughter will long be remembered! I was so happy to have met and still in touch with your daughter Kathy and family! Bless you Kathy for all you did for your mom and still doing! This world was a better place with Mary in it. Her life was a blessing to all that knew her, and she gave us memories that are too beautiful to ever forget. She had a sparkle in her eye, a bounce in her step, and a laugh that was utterly contagious.
I loved Mary the moment I met her. She had such positive energy. I respected her as a mother-in-law, and treasured our precious time together. She was always so good to me, and a wonderful Grandma to my two sons, William and Matthew. She actively participated in their lives. She came out to California to visit us on a regular basis, plus we took marvelous family vacations together. Such great memories! Days of joy and nights of belly-laughter! Mary was always so much fun to be around and lived life to the fullest. Put her on a dance floor and she was in her element. She was also deeply religious and dedicated to God. Mary had an unwavering strength. She was a rock for all of us.
She will always be remembered by me as a hilariously fun individual who loved life and her family, and was always saying something funny or refreshingly-honest in her wonderful Jersey accent. If she made mistakes, she owned them, and learned from them. I respected her honesty. Simply said, Mary was the epitome of a Spiritual being, living a human experience.
She will be deeply missed, but I reflect upon these words:
“Those we love don’t go away, they walk beside us every day”
I am crying now, but I know we will see her again, dancing in heaven. For now, may she rest in peace.

Dear Kathy..Sorry to hear about your mom! She was such a dear to me when I was part of the Union City School Sysem thru my 30 years there!!..Your mom was even at some of the festivities I threw for the administrators when they retired! Always fond memories..she was a good hugger and very heartfelt thru those years! Praying for you and your family at this time! I am out of town!
